Our engineer detected nonuniform solder ball on EP4CE40F29C6N. Is this common MFG defects or there's risk of counterfeit?

Would it affect to its application? Country origin of the parts is Taiwan

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Intel community.

Did you purchase the device from Intel authorized distributors? Intel PSG has its authorized distributor to sale Intel devices. If you got the devices from formal distributors, you shouldn’t worry on the device authenticity as the devices must be valid units. Otherwise, we do not ensure the device quality and do not provide the further service. You may find the authorized distributor list from the link below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/programmable/buy.html

May I know who is your distributor? Please contact your distributors for this case.

Regards,

Aiman

Probably a pull from an existing board that was then re-balled by an incompetent tech.
