FALC56 E1/T1/J1 Framer; Intel Bus Interface (HPI) to SPI bridge via FPGA

Hi,

I'm looking for an Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface converter/bridge to SPI that I'll implement at the FPGA in order to convert the FALC56 bus to another system SPI communication.

Also, does the intel Micropcoessor 8-bit bus interface have other names?

Hi,

Unfortunately we do not have this available on our PSG websites. We may not be able to support your further on this ticket.

I found this on a forum on the item that could be what you looking for:

Hi,

I am unsure on your request here, are you looking for a soft or hard processor for your system?

In our Platform Designer in Quartus, our PD will auto add a bridge to satisfy any mismatch bus address width in your Qsys design, but we need more info on what you're trying to achieve.

Hi,

We are using FALC56 E1/T1/J1 PEF2256 (full p/n: PEF2256EV22), Intel's component.

On the datasheet, I noticed this component is known to use "Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface".

I'm looking for an "Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface" to SPI converter (bridge) that I'll implement at my FPGA (VHDL).

This bridge should convert "Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface" (parallel) to SPI (serial) and vice versa.

I'm asking here because I didn't find any pseudo code or examples on the internet regarding the "Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface" protocol especially how to convert it to SPI.

Any documents, code examples, or even all the bridge code will help me a lot.

Hi,

I was checking on the host core, if you're using a soft core, which is the Nios II core for example it should look like this:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/programmable/support-resources/design-examples/horizontal/exm-spi-bridge.html

If that is not what you're looking for, I think you may need to file a separate forum on your device in the correct topic.

Hi,

Thanks for the example, but I'm also looking for some "Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface" bridge. so I could combine it with the SPI bridge that you sent me.

Any documentation or examples regarding "Intel Microprocessor 8-bit bus interface" will be grate
