FPGA Stratix® V failed to Initialize DDR3

Hello,

We have multiple units failed DDR3 Fail to Initialize. The issue was unable to solve after replaced the DDR3 components. The issue gone after replace FPGA. Thus, we suspect issue was due to FPGA. We would like to send 1 unit FPGA for FA.

It is bit too early to conclude that FPGA device is the defective device.  You mentioned that multiple FPGA is failing to DDR3 initialization.  On the other hand how many FPGA's are passing the DDR3 initialization ?

Hi,

The failure rate is 3 out of 487. We managed to replace FPGA on 1 of the failure, and the issue is gone. Another failure, we unmount both FPGA and DDR3 and do measurement on the FPGA pad to DDR3 pad. There is no short nor open.

I have quickly reviewed the board schematic.  The DDR3 termination and power rail  and decoupling capacitance seems to be OK.      I do not have anything to suspect from the schematic point of view.
