Finding an Altera FPGA Board Which Can Get Real Time Input Via a USB Port

I'm looking for an FPGA board which can be sent commands from a computer in real time, through USB. For as far as I could find out, UART protocol is pretty standard and can be sent through any USB port.

 

I'm wondering if anybody here has experience with sending real time data through USB to an FPGA. And also, if anybody knows of a specific FPGA with at least 50MHz clock, which is capable of receiving real time data through USB.

Hi DL,

 

Most of the FPGA Board has USB to UART interface that allows you to communicate with a Host PC. Also, most of the FPGA Board has at least 50MHz clock.

 

Choosing a FPGA Board is depending on the usage. If you are looking for FPGA which is able to have complex design logic, you may look for Arria / Stratix Series Kits. If System-on-chip is needed, you may look for FPGA Board with SoC.
