Is an ARM processor necessary to do HDMI on a FPGA?

Hello, I'm looking to do a design that will have an HDMI connection. I'm looking to use the Arria 10. Should I choose the Arria 10 with embedded ARM cores or is that not needed to implement HDMI? Also, are there any kits that have an HDMI output that I could use as a reference?

Thanks,

Joe

HI,

There is no restriction on "MUST use" Arm processor to interact with Intel FPGA HDMI IP core. Feel free to use anything you like.

We do have one HDMI reference design on Arria 10 dev kit board that pair with Bitec daughter card. You can checkout below apps note doc.

Thanks.
