Is my Arria 10 bricked? Can't access JTAG chain

I typically program my Arria 10 SoC FPGA kits via (network) JTAG server.

This gave no problems for a long time. One day, I programmed two boards. After that, I got a blinking red led D17 : MAX_ERROR -> "Board abnormal indicator".

According to the manual, this LED corresponds to the system Max v on the board. Even though this chip was not in the programming chain at the time, I reflashed it with the stock firmware. However the behaviour did not change.

What I observe is a blinking red led upon boot, and it continues like this forever. I cannot access the board via USB JTAG, nor with the USB blaster that connects to the pin header.

Help please! :S

Hi,

  1. D17 Red LED illuminates when the FPGA configuration from flash memory fails, monitor nStatus and conf_done signals.
  2. Check the J58 jumper and msel settings.

Hope you have followed steps from-> topic "System Controller Configuration" from https://www.intel.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_US/pdfs/literature/ug/ug-a10-soc-devkit.pdf

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best Regards,

Anand Raj Shankar
