Linux for Arria5 build problem

I tried to build Linux for Arria5 board.

The https://rocketboards.org/foswiki/Documentation/GSRDCompilingLinux procedure fails with error “ERROR: Layer meta-altera-refdes is not compatible with the core layer which only supports these series: warrior (layer is compatible with zeus)”

The https://github.com/robertofem/CycloneVSoC-examples/tree/master/SD-operating-system/Angstrom-v2013.12#4---compile-and-u-boot-kernel-and-root-file-system fails also - seems to be outdated and has broken sources.

Could you provide operable procedure for building linux and rootfs for Arria5 ?

Thanks.

Ilya

Hi Ilya,

May I know which Quartus/Soc EDS version you are working on?

Which design did you tested it on, is it our pre-built SD Card image here?:

the design is built on Quartus 15, but the problem is that the recipes do not work. I tried to reproduce the build from the Rocketboards page and it fails. Do you have updated build instructions / recipes ?

Thanks

Hi,

You need to use the same GSRD Tagging with the Quartus and SoC EDS version to work.

Version 15 is very old and most probably wont have the latest support, I recommend that you try the latest version.

More tutorials please find it here, and select Arria V SoC in the select drop box; https://rocketboards.org/foswiki/Main/GettingStarted
