Is there any way to use the DE2 Control Panel under Linux?

Or, is there some other tool that provides similar functionality under Linux?

Or, is the protocol to the device documented anywhere?

I really want to avoid Windows!

Thanks,

Anyone have information on this? I need to figure out the MAC address of my dev board, but the only easy way I've seen so far to do this is with the Windows interface.
