Max 7000 to Max V Programming

I am planning on switching from Intel (Altera) Max 7000 CPLD IC to Max V or Max II device family.

I wanted to understand can I reuse the same firmware created for Max 7000  with changes done for Max V pinouts or are there any other important considerations to be taken care of

Hello,

You can use old firmware and port to MAXII/MAXV. But you need to have the source code(verilog/vhdl) that has been developed for MAX7000. You need to take this source code, recompile with MAXII/MAXV in Quartus then see if there is any error. You need to fix this error. If everything goes fine(can compile without error) then you can generate the .pof file for MAXII/MAXV.
