I am planning on switching from Intel (Altera) Max 7000 CPLD IC to Max V or Max II device family.
I wanted to understand can I reuse the same firmware created for Max 7000 with changes done for Max V pinouts or are there any other important considerations to be taken care of
You can use old firmware and port to MAXII/MAXV. But you need to have the source code(verilog/vhdl) that has been developed for MAX7000. You need to take this source code, recompile with MAXII/MAXV in Quartus then see if there is any error. You need to fix this error. If everything goes fine(can compile without error) then you can generate the .pof file for MAXII/MAXV.
I would like to kindly follow up with you to inquire if you have any additional concerns regarding this case. Please do not hesitate to inform us if there are any outstanding issues, as we are always available to provide further assistance.
However, if there are no further updates or feedback from you, please be advised that this thread will be marked as inactive and subsequently transitioned to community support. I kindly request that you keep me informed of any progress or changes in the situation.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
