I need to program the device in a way that I will be able to take the kit somwhere and when i'll turn on the power my software will automatically be programmed to the fpga.

I don't understand if i'm supposed to use the max II or the flash memory.

I have a .sof file that i want to program to the device so i'll don't need to program it every time, just turn on the power and the fpga will start working, for example if there is a way to load my .sof file to the MAX II and when i turn on the power the MAX II will program the .sof file to the fpga. How can I manage to do so?

Thanks.

The User manual for the TR4 describes the flash programming methodology for this board:

http://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/archive.pl?language=english&categoryno=164&no=683&partno=4

Read over pages 10-17.
