Simulation Example Spec or document

Dear Intel Expert/Support

I just downloaded hip_a10gx_g3_x8_avmm_dma256_1602.QAR, it is a big surprise to me that finally I figured out how to run the generated simulation. I am new to PCIe,  it is a very good platform for me to understand PCIe core, DDR and Avalon interface. the altpcietb_bfm_rp_gen3_x8.sv has 78048 lines of code. is there any tutorials and/or documents about how to learn, use, modify this simulation environment. there must be something somewhere, please give me some link or suggestion to find them.
