Using UART on Arria 10 SOC Dev. Kit

Hello,

I'm not using the HPS, only the FPGA section on the Arria 10 SOC Dev. Kit. I'm having trouble understanding what UART's I can use or access. I need to ideally access UARTA (mini-USB connector, J10) and if possible (UART1, RS232 connector).

For UARTA, I believe the signals go to the MAX V System controller chip, which I don't have the source code for. Is there a way to access these signals and bring them into the FPGA. Please advise any thoughts or advise.

Best Regards,

Mahesh

Hi,

Yes the UART is J10 in Arria 10 SOC DevKit. This you can use to download the sof file for example to program the FPGA. You don't have to have the MAX V source code.
