I am new to Altera Cyclone V SoC. I am trying to buy development kit and explore the capabilities. What are the software tools, licenses, SDE required to compile and run some example codes?

Hi

For Arm* DS* for Intel® SoC FPGA Edition License—If you have purchased a SoC development kit, then you have already received an Arm* license serial number. This is a 15-digit alphanumeric string with two dashes in between. This serial number is an activation number for your license in DS* for Intel® SoC FPGA Edition.

Alternatively, If you want to evaluate the Arm* DS* for Intel® SoC FPGA Edition, you can get a 30-Day Evaluation activation code from the Arm* Development Studio.

You could also refer to Intel® FPGA Licensing Support Center for license requirement

@AR_A_Intel ,

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate. I am able to get started on Altera Cyclone V SoC with the link you provided. It says "Arm* Development Studio for Intel® SoC FPGA (Arm* DS for Intel® SoC FPGA) is sold separately, replacing Arm* Development Studio 5 (Arm* DS5) ".

1. Do I need to purchase Arm* Development Studio to start working on the development kit? OR

2. Shall I work with "Free software supported by Intel Quartus® Prime Lite Edition software"?

3. Do I need "Arm* Development Studio" for production code Or  "Free software supported by Intel Quartus® Prime Lite Edition software" should be fine?

I am trying to figure out Licenses/cost requirement upfront to consider in the budget. I appreciate for your help.
