the problem about sector and chip earse time of flash S29AL032D?

in the altera fpga starter developmet kit, the flash is S29AL032D,the time request like following:

Sector Erase Time 0.7 s

Chip Erase Time 45 s

but in the example, the Sector Erase Time is set to about 25.6ms, Chip Erase Time is set to 102.4ms, the result is nice, the kit works well.

I am confused about this, anybody help me? thank you.

Wow!

So, the chip on your board is Spansion not SST?

And it also works when contain does big change again & again?

Looks interesting~!

yes, the flash is Spansion.

i have tried to write a song into the flash using the example code, and the WM8731 can sing the song, so i say the board works well.

Very strange！

It still works after re-programming?

Chip Erase time should around 1 minute for most of Flash 32Mb~64Mb in my experience.

If this is true, you found a very fast way to make a Flash programmer.

i tried a lot of times.sometimes, the kit works well after re-programming, when i long the chip erase time to 45s, everytime is nice. so i think the example code is wrong.

as your mentioned, the code is for SST flash.
