One common issue that I run into with Qsys designs, is that many people are unaware of how to create search paths that can be leveraged across multiple users and projects, in order to create powerful libraries of custom IP components. This wiki page provides an example on how to utilize IP Index (or .ipx) files for Qsys, which allow it to easily search through multiple library locations, enabling one to develop libraries of both generic as well as project-specific IP.
