This example attempts to illustrate some basic characteristics of the crc32 algorithm and suggests some practical applications that can be derived from them. The archive provided with this example contains a shell script that can be executed to produce the output shown below.
Download the archive and extract it using tar (tar xzf <archive_name>). Change into the example directory (cd practical_crc_usage) and then run the example script (./practical_crc_usage.sh). This example should run just fine on a Windows platform with the Altera 10.1sp1 development tools installed, including the Nios II software development tools. Open a Nios II command line shell and execute this example from the bash command prompt.
