Dear Intel,
i have bought a ARC 770 almost 2 years ago. When i started to TRY and use IPEX it was frustrating. No proper documentation and out of date manuals as everything change with the speed of light. I was glad that some people did create (koboldCPP, LLAMACPP, etc.) that works on Vulkan and i did not have to deal with the messy IPEX stuff (not about the quality of IPEX, but the documentation provided by Intel). Now I have 2 Intel cards in my system, the ARC and the B570. On vulkan they are working ... OK'ish, but i have seen that on IPEX with LLAMACPP they are hell faster. So again i started to try and install the IPEX solution on my PC (Windows and Linux) just to find out that from a user point of view (and NO, not every user is a programmer or nerd !!) this still is a mess!! you still need to create and run scripts, import torch (the message that no sadisfied version could be found seems to be burned into the screen already) .... but to make it short !!
Why is it, that Intel is planing on releasing even more cards for LLM / AI with a great ammount of memory for a descent price, but the support behind it sucks like hell !??! ... the AI playground .. AMAZING !!! and easy to use ... but when it come to IPEX ... that is like let the NON NERD USER stand in the dark and alone. Are there any plans to bring this to a bit more professional way ? ... like here is the one click installer and you are good to go ?! ... or at least a real documentation that is actually working and not different on every other PC ?!
Sorry if i come across as unfriendly, this is not my intention, i'm just frustrated as hell, because i do not understand that a company like intel with the resources in the background who could win a great share in the market with their GPU's is lacking in such a growing marked so badly !!
again sorry for my english, not my main language !! Hopefully i get a response i can work with or maybe even a link to a tutorial that is not made for programmers and nerds where i have to play around with python, torch, import and what so ever
Cheers, T.
