Faulty Intel Core i5 11400 iGPU?

Hi. I bought this CPU in 2021 and for 3 years I had this issue where opening any DirectX 12 applications would crash the System in a weird way. Literally anything, from RDR 2 to running Canva on Google Chrome.

For some reason, in 2024 I installed the Xenia emulator, which uses DirectX 12, and this time it didn't crash the system. I tried running RDR2 and now it was running and there were no visual artifacts anymore.

Just this week, it went back to the previous state. I can't explain why.

Just last week I was playing the GTA V Enhances version (uses DirectX 12) with no issues. Like long sessions, 6 hours. And there were no issues at all.

But now it crashes. I cant open Online nor Story mode. Xenia emulator crashes too. RDR 2 crashes too.

I tried installing the previos drivers, all the way back to January. But that didn't resolve the issue, any DirectX app would still crash.

Yes, this is a weak gpu, but it.was running RDR2 and GTA V Enhanced with DirectX 12 just fine three days ago. I even have a 12th generation Intel laptop with a weaker CPU and while these games run a little worse, they still run and have no issue with DirectX 12. This issue only happens with my 11th Gen Intel cpu.

Could this be a problem with Windows, or is this a hardware fault issue.

I uploaded a video of the kind of artifacts it would appear after crashing.

Hello wolf606,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

  1. What is your OS?
  2. What is the driver version that you installed?
  3. How did you update the driver?
  4. Did you update the OS or any hardware changes before the issue started?
  5. What is your game launcher? Are you using Steam or Epic Games?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

1. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 26100) (26100.ge_release.240331-1435)
2. Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6734 (WHQL Certified) for Intel® Arc™ B-Series Graphics, Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics, Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics, and Intel® Core™ Ultra Processors with Intel® Arc™ Graphics

Happens with older drivers too. As I explained, I tested every si gle driver released in 2024 and the issue was present. It has to be a hardware fault.since those drivers used to work fine.

3. Downloaded form the official Intel website and installed with the Clean installation option.

4. No.

5. Epic Games. This is not an important variable since any DirectX 12 application from any launcher would crash the System.

Hello wolf606,

Thank you for the update.

Based on processor diagnostic tool, there is no error found on your processor.

After checking the SSU logs, I found out that you are using Graphics driver version 32.0.101.6651.

The latest driver that we have is version 32.0.101.6734 so kindly update the driver using the DDU method.

Please refer to the link below for the link of the latest driver and steps to perform DDU installation.
