Hello,

I have reinstalled Windows 7 (x86) on my Acer Aspire 1430. I went to install the latest drivers and rebooted. Now, I get a BSoD whenever I boot up. I can only boot back into safe mode, roll back the drivers and use the default Windows driver.

Hello,

Just to confirm, what happens to your system if you use the driver that has been directly provided by Acer? Are you able to boot properly to the operating system?

If not, you could be having either a hardware problem or the operating system has been corrupted.

If yes, the issue could be a compatibility problem with our generic drivers.

Keep in mind that we provide generic drivers for the video controllers we designed, however your Original Equipment Manufacturer may alter the features on them, so they provide customized drivers to support those changes.

The same thing.

I boot up with a blank screen, a bit if flashing, then BSoD 0x116 after a minute.

I used the Acer drivers first then I used yours (Intel) thinking that would fix the problem.

I have since "bit the bullet" and switched to x64 edition of Windows 7 which doesn't have this problem.

The copy of Windows 7 (x86) had a modified version of the kernel based on:

(this is the A-HA moment).
