BIOS and Intel Iris XE graphics.

Hi,

I don't really have intention of blaming or claiming anything on companies, but then again I already know what Intel is and what AMD isn't after some 20 years or so.
Even ATi or CREATIVE was much better than Intel or AMD or NVIDIA.

The cynical agenda with Intel/Windows and when it's changing update settings without permissions.
It's a horrible and a shameless agenda by Intel to mess with the hardware as well on laptop updates through firmwares, just because of some updates that was already planned by my personal preferences for no wishful updates. I already know what kind of messed up agenda the development from Intel are all up to behind all of their agendas and development of new component releases.

Since the end of 2023 in December, a BIOS update overrided my laptop preferences after not having updates turned on. BIOS firmware along with Intel updates related to only the Intel graphic card got installed on a laptop and updated BIOS firmare and Intel display drivers without my permission. After this update, everything related to display settings and screen refresh rate became contantly unstable and it still is until this day. The firmware and updates were succesfully installed without issues, but again without my permission which is the most relevant of ruining customers belongings.
BIOS interface is not even visible on this laptop because of the refresh rate issue that came along with the updates in the first place.

I have to connect the laptop display to an extended monitor to use the Intel graphic card.
I have done so many other troubleshootings since December 2023, but it all seems to be related to hardware and repairs on my expenses with ASUS without warranty.

Any other suggestions is what I'm requesting and similar issues from solutions from other users that will come in response to this message will be good!

So let's be clear, the BIOS is a product of the manufacturer of the motherboard/laptop/system. If anything is going wrong at that level, it isn't Intel that you need to be whining at. Any changes implemented at the BIOS level are owned by that manufacturer. The artificial limitation of refresh rate for external monitors is a 'feature' implemented by that manufacturer (Dell, for one, did this a lot). You are blaming Intel for something that they have absolutely no control over. You need to be dealing with your laptop manufacturer.

Don't get me wrong, Intel is responsible for a lot of things - just not the ones you are complaining about. These are all in the laptop manufacturer's purview.

As for Windows Update, Intel has nothing to do with any changes to its configuration. Intel releases drivers (and, in some cases, BIOS updates - but only for their own motherboard/laptop/system products) to Microsoft and indicates what they are for. There are occasions (sadly, way too many) where Intel screws up these releases and drivers get installed (or at least attempted) inappropriately - and this includes cases where drivers are inappropriately downgraded (this is the one that pisses me off the most).

Just saying,

I'm not whining and I'm not going to read the rest of the text after that assumptions about whining as you have written.
It's not even a helpful response for anything. The Intel chipset has a lot to do with components related to BIOS, firmware and updates.
So you're not aware of this! @n_scott_pearson

First of all, if you had taken a moment to look at my profile, you would know that I am well versed in BIOS and firmware development and I do know what I am talking about.

Secondly, people come here every day either trying to blame Intel for something or expecting them to fit something because it includes intel content. Most if these cases are people that do not understand that the motherboard/laptop/system manufacturer is responsible for the BIOS and Intel has no control over what they do. If it is a case where a manufacturer has a problem with Intel hardware, be it the processors, the chipsets or peripheral devices, they have their own paths to escalate these problems to Intel for help or repair. You bringing them here accomplishes nothing.

Bottom line, this conversation is a waste of time and there was nothing for it to accomplish right from the gitgo. I too am finished paying any attention to it.

Exactly. "Intel has no control over what they do"... What a shame of bad collaboration!
