Can an ASUS-15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 with an Intel UHD Graphics 620 Graphics Card. Model: Q526FA-BI7T10 computer support 2 separate Monitors?

I am trying to connect 2 Monitors as such: One via HDMI cable from the laptops HDMI port and the second via USB-C to HDMI cable from the laptops USB-C Port. I am having no luck. Only one monitor will work.

I have tried two different docking stations, neither docking station would work. The Monitors are both:

HP - 27f 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync - Model: 2XN62AA#ABA

The processor has three independent output channels. One will be used in eDP mode to support the build-in display. One will be used in HDMI 1.4 mode to support the HDMI connector (unless they also included a LSPcon chip to support HDMI 2.0, but this is rare). The third should be in DP 1.2 mode and, if it's supported, exposed through the USB-C connector. If you have two of these monitors, you should be able to individually test the monitors and HDMI cables connecting them to the HDMI connector. That then leaves the USB-C port and the USB-C-to-HDMI cable that you purchased.

Have you been able to get a monitor to work using the USB-C connector? Is the problem that it doesn't work or that, when both monitors are connected, only one works?

  • If both connectors work but not at the same time (or they display the same thing all the time), this means that Asus screwed up and they used the same output from the processor for both of these connectors. In this case, the only way to add the second external monitor is via USB. A dongle (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Converter-Adapter-Windows-Computer-Firestick/dp/B07XYQN8BK) can be used on a USB 3.0/3.1 port.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for your help. I'll look into the Dongle and the more capable Cable.. We purchased this... https://www.bestbuy.com/site/j5create-6-usb-type-c-to-hdmi-cable-gray/6185300.p?skuId=6185300

One Monitor plugged into the Laptop HDMI - Good

One monitor plugged into USB-C via that cable - No Go

Both monitors do work.. never at the same time.

With no monitor plugged into the HDMI port, does a monitor plugged into the USB-C connector work? I rather doubt it; the flyer indicates support for USB and Analog Audio, not DisplayPort.

If you must use Best Buy, this dongle might work: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-usb-type-c-to-4k-hdmi-adapter-white/4480802.p?skuId=4480802 (but need good HDMI to HDMI cable to go with it) and this cable might work: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/platinum-6-usb-c-to-4k-hdmi-cable-for-macbook-chromebook-or-laptops-with-a-usb-c-port-gray/6367410.p?skuId=6367410.

Hope this helps,
