DVI output doesn't output with Intel's drivers

What I'm trying to do is run dual monitors on an ASUS desktop with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000. VGA output works like a champ. DVI, however, doesn't work at all regardless of what I do (swap the DVI connection between monitors, start the pc with just the DVI plugged in, ctrl+p, ctrl+alt+f12, pretty sure there was another ctrl combo, and any attempt to detect the monitor fails). That is, until I uninstall Intel's display adapter drivers. Upon reload in to Windows, the second monitor stays on and displaying (the DVI always outputs through the startup; its the Windows/Intel driver factor that kills it). I'm at a loss. The drivers are the latest 9.18.10.3257 from 7/29/2013. Even previous versions of the driver prevent DVI output. A small quirk to this issue is that hitting disable then enable for the Intel display adapter, the second monitor will magically come back on (DVI outputs like it is supposed to). There's gotta be something about the drivers that can be killed/modified to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

What type of DVI port do you have in that system? Is it DVI-A, DVI-I or DVI D?

You can refer to this URL for information on how to identify it:

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DVI_Connector_Types.svg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DVI_Connector_Types.svg

Are you using any type of adapter, converter or any other device in between such as a KVM, AV receiver etc.?

If you are using a straight cable, is it the same in both ends?

Its a DVI-D dual link cable. I'm just running straight cable from the monitor to the pc. The monitor is a HP L1750, which receives DVI-D dual link. Just checked the cable and all of the pins are straight and shiny.

While using the DVI-D and VGA connected to the system, please generate the dxdiag report from your system and copy paste it here.

Also paste the system report generated by the Intel(R) Graphics and Media control panel, to generate the report, follow the instructions here:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-009476.htm Graphics | Intel(R) Graphics Driver Report

Additionally, please specify the model of the monitors being used, the BIOS version of the system, and the model of the motherboard you have.
