I have a PCIe audio interface (EgoSys ESI ESP1010e) in a Lenovo M58p and the DP (Displayport) is not working when this audio interface is installed.
The M58p have (I think) a Intel Q45 mainboard with a Intel 4500 intergrated graphics card.
When I remove the interface, I can have two screens. (one via the VGA and the other via a Displayport --> DVI adapter)
Is it any possibility I can have both screens and a interface in the PCIe slot?
Use this for my DAW (music production) and the computer is working really well besides this.
Both the audio interface and the 2.LCD is needed!

Anyone?
"Is it any possibility I can have both screens and a interface in the PCIe slot?"Is there any limitation in the chipset which means this is not possible? Or is this something that Intel can "open up" in a new BIOS revision?

kristoffer, you are able to have dual display on native device (Intel onboard VGA and DVI-D port) because the hardware supports the dual display config and the display drivers for that onboard device is coded that way to give you dual display
You can check with you PCIe card manufacturer and driver specs to get more info on weather you can get dual display on both ports of PCIe card.. That would be the best way to conclude

Thanks, I have now sent tech support an email, and posted on the ESI forum.
I thought it was a mainboard limitation, since I've seen a few others with the same problem. They had a problem when inserting a NIC (network card) in the PCIe port.

Cool,
And if you get dual display, you will get extended desktop... You can drag say IE from one monitor onto 2nd and likewise. Although you will have cloned screen till the drivers are loaded
Cheers

Yes, I've always used my DAW with dual screen (streched the audio sequencer over the two screens)

Well, got an answer now.
ESI is looking into it, they don't believe it is the drivers but they actually dont have any computers with a integrated graphics and displayport.
It looks like I'll have to buy myself a new computer... well - probably the best
