The driver installer 31.0.101.2121 has a bug and does not work with my 4405U / HD 510 CPU/GPU

Contrary to the description, 6th generation Skylake support has been removed from the installer file iigd_dch.inf 🤡

What do you mean exactly?

That we will no longer have updates for Skylake 6th generation

@Silencioso

I don't know about Intel's plans.

Obviously there is a lack of communication between the driver builders and the webmaster.

But i'm afraid in future Skylake users will have to do what is not recommended or supported by Intel:

INF modding and disabling driver signatures

Very disappointing!!  Especially when one is confronted by a notification that an update has been released, only to then discover it doesn't apply to the user's CPU.

@Stefan3D  can you elaborate a little more on INF modding and disabling driver signatures please?  Many thanks.

@emmrecs

Assuming that Intel doesn't like modding discussions here, i posted a guide at  LaptopVideo2Go

DRIVER VERSION: 31.0.101.2121 WHQL
DATE: April 5, 2023

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • Vertical collage mode not functional using the Intel Graphics Command Center.
  • May observe two combined displays visible as not combined displays in the Intel Graphics Command Center.

I conclude that it is better to stay with the latest Intel gfx_win_101.2115 than to have problems with the gfx_win_101.2121.

What do you think?

Thank you for your information and for your help.

I certainly seems like skylake/6th gen has been dropped, contrary to the download page which says 6th gen processors are supported.

If correct, it would have been nice for a statement on the download page, and to modify the supported processors list.

If incorrect, then development did not do any testing on skylake machines.

Whatever the case, very disappointing.

Intel confirms that support of Skylake has been discontinued:

https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Error-update-HD-Grapics-520-version-31-0-101-2115-to-version-31/m-p/1474317/highlight/true#M116140

"Due to this product being discontinued, Intel Customer Service no longer supports inquiries for it, but perhaps fellow community members have the knowledge to jump in and help. You may also find the Discontinued Products website helpful to address your request."

After clicking "show more" a gazillion times Skylake processors appear in that discontinued products list...
