G'day guys,
I own a Japanese Sony Vaio P which has an Intel GMA 500 in it. I have been attempting to update the drivers for it (this is the first time I have done it manually). I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. To download the file I went to Intel's downloads page where you can select the graphics chip, the operating system etc... and downloaded the drivers for win7. I unzipped the downloaded file and clicked setup. Upon execution I was greeted with the message that went along the lines of "This update is not supported for your computer. Please download the drivers from your manufacturer". However, the Sony Japan website just re-directs users back to the Intel downloads website.
If you look at the information regarding my computer and its driver versions below you will notice that the driver versions have a different code to that of the newest which is 5.0. 0.2023
What should I do?

I've update to the gma 500 driver version 5.0.0.2026 (jun2010) in a vaio p 1.3Ghz (vgn p6xx series) and it works fine, except i've to downgrade VLC player to version 1.0.5 because I get noisy sound in avi movies.
With the 5.0.0.2026 driver in vaio p 1.3gz I am surprise that movies play smoother than in vaio p 1.6ghz with SSD (vpcp11 series - driver version 2024 which came in the notebook).
I tried install the 2026 driver on the vpcp but the computer lost the resolution of 1280x600 and it made the switch resolution button useless. I hope Sony be fast and delivery the new gma 500 driver for the vaio vpcp soon.
