Intel HD 5500 will not allow my new laptop to open Links 2003 golf sim. When trying to open the screen goes black and then hangs.
How can we solve this problem?

@ Mountainview
as this game is quite old, right-click the executable and try the compatibility options.

Stefan3D,
Thanks for the reply.
I have ran the program in compatibility with various old settings back to XP with no difference.
I realise that it is an old game but I know from other forums that it runs on Windows 10 with other graphic cards.
Any further suggestions will be appreciated.

Have you tried any game updates? This can make game compatible for Windows® 10.
Allan.

Alan, thanks for the reply.
I have loaded the game from it's original discs and updated with all new patches available from the Links Corner website. In addition I found a post that suggested that I add the Device ID and Name to the Links videocard.txt file, but no change.
I hope somebody can help.

It might be compatibility with the graphics controller and the game itself. Please test updating game or getting future graphics drivers.

Alan,
I don't know who or how somebody indicated your answer was "Correct", but it is not true. The correct answer will be when a solution is found.
I am willing to try anything to get a solution, will you please explain how I can test "getting future graphics drivers"?
Thanks
Ian

Alan I have already looked at that site and also http://linkscorner.org/ Links Corner Golf Simulation Software Resources, and although I have had many suggetsions it is the conclision of the http://linkscorner.org/ Links Corner Golf Simulation Software Resources that the new Intel chips will not work.
My second last laptop was a HP running Vista graphic Intel 965 express Chipset with Vista SP2 - now you know why it was been replaced.
Is it possible to download an older driver?

Try accessing this site and select your operating system version, you will find earlier driver versions:
