Hello simfun
Thank you for posting in the Intel® community.
- Have you try uninstalling the audio and graphics devices on the system (restart the system each time you uninstall the drivers) once this has been completed install the driver provided by the manufacturer (https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/vostro-3670-desktop/drivers https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/vostro-3670-desktop/drivers).
- What is the brand and model of the display?
- Is the video connection HDMI® to HDMI®?
- Please attach to this thread the TXT file the Intel® System Support Utility will generate: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility
- Steps to save the report:
- Run the utility.
- Click on "Scan" to get the scanned system.
- Once the scan is complete click on "next".
- Use the "save" option, save the report to your desktop.
- To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.
Hope this helps.

Hello simfun
Thank you for the information.
- Verify if the system has worked properly at some point or if the error occurred after an update or upgrade?
- Do have any error reported on the device manager?
- Have you tried the display on another system?
- Have you tested the system with a different HDMI® cable?
Regards,
Leonardo C.

- Many updates have been applied. The problem is there a very long time.
- No errors reported
- The monitor has been tested succesfully on another system
- I have tested the system with another HDMI cable with no luck.

OK, the solution was really hidden and unpredictable. If you disable Legacy booting from BIOS and use UEFI, the HDMI sound is coming out without problem. "Good wines" as we say in my country or "Needle on a haystack" if you prefer.
