I have a X201 laptop and X200 dock which has VGA and DP (Displayport) connectors, I bought a new Dell U2419H monitor and when connecting X200 dock to the monitor with DP cable I get "No DP signal from your device" message. In Dell monitor's user manual it says:
" Verify which DP standard (DP 1.1a or DP 1.4) is your
Graphics Card certified to. Download and install the
latest graphics card driver.
• Some DP 1.1a graphics card cannot support
DP 1.4 monitors. Go to OSD menu, under Input
Source selection, press and hold DP select
key for 8 sec to change the monitor setting from
DP 1.4 to DP 1.1a. "
Where can I find DP standard information for X201? X201 has the following specs:
"BIOS
"Processor
Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz
Intel® HD Graphics

Probably X201 is just too old and it's not compatible with the new Dell monitor.
Is there a way to connect it to this Dell monitor (using VGA?) or should I buy a X260 instead, how can I check that X260 is compatible as there are many versions available of X260?

I got it working, I had to connect another newer computer to Dell monitor to gain access to On Screen Display (which works fully only when there is a digital video signal from a computer, this wasn't mentioned in Dell's manual unfortunately), there I changed a DP standard setting from 1.4 to 1.1a and voila.
