How to install Intel HD Graphics 4000 from 3000?

I have Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 and I want to get Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 so I can play Black Ops 2. But I don't know how to install the 4000/2500. I'd appreciate the help. If you need my specs I'll post them right here. Also back in the summer I updated my graphics card from Intel Graphics Family to Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 so I could run Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10 GHz

GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

OS: Windows 7

RAM: 4.00 GB

64-Bit

One last thing. When I tried installing it I went to:

Start>Computer/Properties>Device Manager>Display Adapters>Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000> Update a driver> Browse manually>Pick from a set of drivers>Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.

When I did this it gave me a message that said something like "Windows does not support this as if this system does not support the driver then your computer could become unstable or stop working completely." Just thought you'd know

You can't "install HD4000/2500" to your computer just by installing a driver update. The HD3000 graphics device is part of the CPU chip in your laptop - it is included in almost all mobile chips that carry the Core i# -2# M branding. You would need to buy a new laptop computer to get a laptop with the Core i# -3# M cpu to get the HD4000 graphics.

Hi Travis,

The "default" driver that came with your computer displays as an "HD Graphics" driver. Either when you or Windows Update applied a driver update to the system, it showed with it's proper name "HD Graphics 3000" which is what your i3-2310M should have.

Thanks,

-Nic

nó vẫn là phần cứng của HD3000 và nó chỉ sử dụng trình điều khiển của HD4000 mà thôi

@GBSB This thread is from 2012 - a decade ago.

Hd3000 graphics cannot be upgraded to HD4000 graphics, and the HD4000 graphics driver cannot be used on HD3000 graphics.
