I can't enable V-sync.

I need to enable V-sync, but all my efforts to do so keep directing me to menu options that don't seem to exist. I've heard I need Intel Arc Control, but whenever I try to install that, it says I don't meet the minimum requirements. What do I do? I can't just not have V-sync.

  • Processor make and model.
  • Graphics card make and model.
  • Motherboard make and model.
  • Amount of memory (RAM).
  • Operating System version/build number.
  • Power Supply make and model.

 

Have you been able to use V-sync on your system previously?

Where did you get or download Intel Arc Control?

Could you provide a screenshot of the exact error message you're encountering?

Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-8500 CPU @ 3.00GHz

Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics 630

Motherboard: 04Y8V0, by Dell Inc., version A02

RAM: 16.0 GB

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (64-bit), version 24H2 (10.0.26100)

I can't firgure out how to check the Power Supply without physically opening my computer, which I'm currently using to write this reply, so I'll have to get back to you on that.

I used to be able to use V-sync on my old computer (which I believe had either an AMD or an NVidia graphics card), but since it got cloned to a new computer, it's no longer working.

I got Intel Arc Control from this website, but it's been a long time and I've been bounced around a lot, so I don't recall precisely where.

The error message clearly indicates a compatibility issue. The Intel® Graphics Driver version 32.0.101.6913 you're viewing is not officially listed as compatible with Intel® UHD Graphics 630.

 

The driver supports newer graphics architectures such as:

    • Intel® Arc™ Graphics
    • Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics
    • Intel® UHD Graphics for 11th Gen and newer processors

 

Intel® UHD Graphics 630 is typically found in 8th and 9th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, which are not mentioned in the supported platforms list for this driver.

To use this software, you need a higher-tier processor from the 11th generation or newer. Please refer to the guide below for more details.

Hi @ComputerBroke,

 

Are you using an external monitor?

Since Arc Control and Intel Graphics Software can't initialize with this processor, please try using Intel Graphics Command Center (Beta) instead. You can download it here and follow the steps in the article below. Also, check the attached files.

Good News: I got it installed, and I managed to find the Vertical Sync option. 

Bad News: It doesn't seem to be working to limit the FPS for the specific game I want to limit it for. I had to select it manually, so there's a possibility I might have done that wrong.

To assist you better, could you please let us know if you're playing the game in Fullscreen mode or Windowed mode?

 

Just a quick note: VSync settings only impact games or applications when they are in Fullscreen mode.

Unfortunately, VSync settings only impact games or applications when they are in Fullscreen mode. Try to play the game in full screen mode, In older Intel® graphics drivers, this feature could be disabled for OpenGL* applications (not DirectX* games/applications). If issue persist you may have to contact your system manufacturer they might have customized certain components for compatibility.
