Intel DH55TC display resolution problem with Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi everyone. I have built a new pc today. The specs are:

Intel i3 530

DH55HC mobo

Transcend 2 GB DDR3 x 2

500 GB HDD

Viewsonic VA1912wb monitor with max native resolution of 1440x900

WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE

NO GRAPHIC CARD INSTALLED.

On installation I found that the maximum resolution I get is 1280x924 and even this is STRETCHED and not NORMAL. The best resolution is 1024*728 or something. I was using this monitor with a FX5500 card earlier on Xp Professional and it was working fine. Why this new problem. Can someone help by suggesting a solution. I dont want to invest more money in this now.
