Intel Driver & Support Assistant block hard drive unmounting

Hello, I have the problem with Intel Driver & Support Assistant. This app block unmounting my hard drive used in hot swap mode.

I see in the event veiwer the following note:
Application \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Driver and Support Assistant\DSAService.exe with ID  3668 stop the process of device removing SCSI\Disk&Ven_Samsung&Prod_SSD_870_EVO_1TB\4&3556794&0&020000.
Command linf of proccess: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Driver and Support Assistant\DSAService.exe"

If I launch Windows without hard drive and mount it after windows starting all works fine. Also I can switch off DSAService service, but after that I can't check for drivers update.

I use the latest version of Driver and Support Assistant on Windows 11

DiZSl, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this matter, first, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

What is the model of the motherboard?

If this is a laptop, what is the model of it?

Is this a new computer?

When did you purchase it?

Could you please confirm the version of the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant you are currently using?

Were you seeing this kind of problem between the Intel Driver & Support Assistant blocking hard drive unmounting before on this same machine?

When did the issue start?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes that might cause this problem?

Which specific Windows* version are you using?

Does the problem happen at home or in the work environment?

Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Hello DiZSl, I just received an update on this matter.

While we are still working on this matter, just to let you know, Intel® DSA only works with the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Edge, so please make sure to use one of those browsers and also to clear the browser's cache.

We also wanted to confirm, does this happen with any other hot-swappable disk?

Please try a clean installation of Intel® DSA, run the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller Version: 21.7.50.3:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19333/intel-driver-support-assistant-uninstaller.html?v=t

Restart and install the latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant tool version 21.7.50.3:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18002/intel-driver-support-assistant.html?wapkw=intel%20driver%20support%20assistant%20intel%20dsa

If the issue remains, please provide the latest file from Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91600

The latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller log file: using File Explorer, search for DSAUninstaller.log

The latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant log files: using File Explorer: go to folder = C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA, and zip the Log files or entire folder.

Note: Uncheck "Hide System Files" to see the AppData folder.

I did everything you said, but the problem remains.

I only have one hot swap hard drive, so I can't test with another one. But I checked it on a USB flash drive and everything works with it.

I want to note again that the problem only appears if the operating system is booted with an already connected disk. If the disk is connected after the operating system is loaded, then everything works fine.

I can assume that the device handle ( https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/fileapi/nf-fileapi-createfilea ) is not released when polling available devices.
