Intel Graphics HD 4000 DP to HDMI problem

I have a HP Elite 8300 sff running Windows 10 Pro, version 1809, build 17763.195, with a 3.40 gigahertz Intel Core i7-3770 processor on a HP 3397 motherboard with 24452 of usable installed memory and integrated Intel Graphics HD 4000. According to Microsoft Update, HP and Intel all my drivers are up to date including bios. The HD 4000 has a vga and display port, version 1.1a. I have a vga to vga connection to a ViewSonic VX2754 monitor. My problem is I want to go from the DP to HDMI on a Westinghouse WD50UC4300. If I use a DP to vga adapter I can connect to the smart TV but the picture has horizonal lines on it and connects at 1920 x 1080/60hz. I tried a DP to HDMI cable. The specs are attached. I did not get a signal on any of the three HDMI connections. Another person had about the same problem with his Westinghouse WD50UC4300. See attached solution. I tried that and it did not work. The manufacture of the cable responded to my problem. See response. I could not find any 1080p/60hz setting on this TV. I am at my wits end on this issue and have tried everything I know and am quite computer literate. However, in this case I am dumb as a box of rocks. I am hoping someone can help me resolve my DP to HDMI connection problem. Thanks.

Hhmmm, I suggest you try a better adapter. I am worried by that lack of bidirectional support.

Here is the one that I am using to connect to 4K TV at 30Hz: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GW8I2BM. It uses mini-DP connector.

If you need one with full-size DP connector, try this one: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-DisplayPort-HDMI-Adapter/dp/B00K0UDYLM.

Hope this helps,

Thanks n.scott.pearson. I am getting the latter adapter and this HDMI cable today: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BY04HDA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I will let you know if this works.

Purchased the above adapter and cable. Changed the EDID to mode 2 on the TV. Powered off the TV. Installed the adapter and cable. Turned on the PC and TV. Everything looked good, no horizonal lines, etc.. Icons on the bottom of the TV were off a bit. Went into setting again and changed display to PC mode. Now everything is perfect.
