Intel HD 4000 freezes computer

hello, (sorry for double posting, but its not even possible for me to find that thread again....what kinda strange forum is this ?)

i am having a problem.

3770k

asrock h77 pro4 mvp

completly fresh installed pc with all up to date drivers or the latest from the asrock page. i to installed the newest intel hd4000 driver, but with no effect at all. it seems that it doesnt matter what kind of game i play. i tried heroes of the storm, minecraft and league of legends. everytime the pc freezes and i need reset it the hard way...

i have red the whole thread here and did everything ppl here did to solve the problem, nothing helped. i already contacted the asrock support yesterday, so i need to wait to get an answer, if i get one. at least its so dam hard annoying i cant do anything which needs 3d.... i had another board before the asrock, asus p8 z77-v and all worked fine....i then switched to the asrock (cause i somehow broke the asus) and nothing is working regarding 3d

hi Kevin,

thx 4 ur answer, i already had installed them with no effect as i wrote in the initial post. i installed the driver from the asrock again in hope to get earlier a better result, as it is seemingly something with the board and the cpu itself. but i will install them again wanna help u to help me

however, iv tested the cpu with the intel processor diagnostic tool 64 bit.... but all passed succesfully.

edit: installed it now and its the newest version 3958, testing now...well i think i try HotS again -.- perhaps this time more then just the first few seconds of the tutorial

well....its runnin a lot better... so much better i actually thought its gone, im wondering why it doesnt worked so good last time... however, it still freezes the same way it does before, absolutly weired in my eyes

edit: minecraft runs good, no crash for now....but heroes of the storm crashes...

edit2: i tested furmark and crash after 3 miniuts... 100% gpu load....what else...but nothing unusual..

If your processor load is 100% might be that the system performance is poor or perhaps the Operating System may have some bugs now that can be affecting the system performance. Run your antivirus and in the worse case reinstalling the Operating System may be needed.

nono, u understood me wrong, the GPU is 100% what is absolutly logical cause its a GPU stress test...

the CPU itself has all cores average not more then 10%

but i discovered something strange.... i furmark i can switch of the furry ring. if i do that the Core0 then drasticly gains load (30 -50%, the other cores are unchanged) , while GPU load is still 50%

if i turned the ring on again the load from the single core goes back as before.

however....this seems absolutly not logical for me, when i turn off the ring, which had to decrease the load, the load of the core goes up that much ?

btw: its the same problem many ppl have in this thread

Benchmarks programs have many things and algorithms to test different components on the processor and not all of them test the same components in the same way.

My recommendation is to run the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool to diagnose internal components of the processor and see the processor life.

It is very unlikely that a processor is defective but so far and based on the tests this is the case.

I recommend you contacting our support center so they can get more information about the product and help you with a possible replacement.

If you are able to play for a while, can you check if the CPU is overheating?

Otherwise you might want to test a few BIOS settings:

1. Set "Load XMP Setting" to Default. Sometimes XMP profiles aren't stable. If there is no difference, put back to Auto.

2. Set "CPU Core Voltage" from Auto to Offset mode with a value of 0 if possible. (Maybe your BIOS doesn't have this setting, if this is the case, leave to Auto)

Hello, right now i dont want to believe its a CPU Problem, because, with my old ASUS P8 Z77 - V Board all worked perfectly, absolutly no problem at all.

However, i will try out the new drives when i can, i have several exams these days, so not much time 😕

The CPU itself cant overheat, even when i did the 13 hours stress test, the temp. never was higher then 50°C

xmp-profile to default and so on, i already tested out, in this forum is another thread like this and iv done evrything the suggest it could help.

however, setting cpu voltage offset to 0 i havent red there, so i will test that as well if possible.

another question.... could it help to rise the offset a little bit ?

Unless there's a bit of voltage loss in that mainboard it shouldn't really help (you can try to rise to a tiny amount I would guess).

For both iGPU and CPU voltages, offset mode and a value of 0 (if available) should be the way to go.

There are mainboards with weird factory settings where auto mode has voltages a lot higher than normal.

Just read your mainboard manual, Load-Line Calibration settings can change many things under load. I don't see what options are available in the manual, so it's hard to say, but if it's enabled you could try to disable or the other way around.

Sounds like other ASRock mainboards with 7-series chipset have problems under load. There are a few suggestions such as setting Load-Line Calibration to Load0 or Load1. (I don't know what these settings mean, I don't have an ASRock board).
