Hi
I have an ASUS G750JM running i7 4710HQ and 2 GB Nvidia GTX 860m with Intel Graphics 4600 integrated.
I recently bought a BENQ XL2420T which supports 120Hz refresh rate.
On the display settings, connected via mini displayport to displayport cable, it can only go up to 1920x1080 @100Hz. There is no 1920x1080 @120Hz option.
Please Help.

Hi there
Have you ever found a solution to this?
I have the exact same issue ... MSI GS60 Ghost Gaming Laptop with Intel 4600 and 970m graphics cards on Samsung S27A950D 120Hz monitor.
My refresh rate is limited to 100Hz instead of 120Hz.

The graphics controller Intel® HD Graphics 4600 supports the following resolutions and refresh rates:
DisplayPort* 1.2 / eDP*
H-Processors: 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz (Ultra-HD)
U-Processors: 3200 x 2000 @ 60 Hz, 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz
Y-Processors: 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
HDMI*: 4096 x 2304, 3840 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 24bpp
DVI: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
The above information is available here:
https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/quick-reference-guide-to-intel-processor-graphics Quick Reference Guide for Intel® Core™ Processor Graphics | Intel® Developer Zone
If your graphics controller is detecting 100 Hz this means the video BIOS of your computer is capable of forcing up to 100 Hz.

Allan, I just found this thread and your comment about the resolution and refresh rate of HD Graphics 4600 at a time when I am on the verge of buying a 1440p monitor. Your message, however, has raised some concerns. I have two connectors on the HD Graphics 4600 – DVI-I and HDMI (I don't see DP). Looking at the specifications that you posted I'm not sure what I will get. So, would you please spell out for me what I can expect from the two connectors that I have (hopefully 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz from HDMI. I assume that DVI-I is the same as DVI and is limited to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz). Thanks for your help.

The Intel® HD Graphics 4600 maximum screen resolution.
HDMI*: 4096 x 2304, 3840 x 2160 @ 24 Hz
DVI: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
Screen resolution varies depending on the BIOS and Video BIOS from your computer manufacturer. Intel does not have a full list of supported resolutions.
Allan.
