Intel HD Graphics 630 - Cannot Extend to USB-C Monitor (Monitor works during Start-up)

I have an ASUS Zenbook laptop which I am attempting to connect a portable display to via USB-C.

I have it connected and whenever I select 'Extend this Display' using the Intel Graphics Manager, the Windows Display Manager, and the on-board Function Key to set to 'Extend', none of these options work correctly.

In the case that I use the Intel or Windows display manager to set to Multiples Monitors -> Extend, the system always flickers display as normal, shows the Windows Keep vs. Revert display warning, then regardless of whether I click Keep Changes or Revert, the settings return back to Just one monitor and the system does not extend the display.

I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall drivers, uninstalling both the INTEL, then the NVIDIA driver, then installing them again doing the INTEL driver first, then the NVIDIA. This did not address the issue.

IMPORTANT
(1) During boot-up, I can see the monitor being duplicated correctly on the ASUS splash screen. It is only when the Intel Driver takes control of the graphics that the issue occurs.

(2) While uninstalling and re-installing my drivers, the Monitor works correctly when the Intel Graphics driver is completely uninstalled. Once I re-installed the driver, the monitor could not be extended to and all other issues persisted as described above.

Looks to be a driver error. Please advise

As an update to this, my Portable Monitor has two functions - HDMI with Power Source, or USB-C (which is far preferred since it handles Display and Power in one connection).

It looks like the current Intel Driver is handling the HDMI connection on this portable monitor correctly, but not the USB-C connection. I was able to Extend to the Monitor using HDMI.

To be clear: This does not address my issue, as the reason I am using this monitor is for the USB-C connection, not the HDMI (which is far more cumbersome). My issue is not resolved.

Hello @Slight

Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you with your issue.

In order to have a better understanding of your issue, please provide me with the following:

IGCC Report: Follow these steps to generate an Intel® Graphics Driver report for the Intel® Graphics Control Panel or the Intel® Graphics Command Center. Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers.

SSU: Please download and scan your system using our tool, Intel® System Support Utility so we can help check your system info first. Once finished downloading, open the tool, click on scan 'Everything', click next, then save the system information to a .txt file. Please provide the .txt file.

This document will be necessary to check your entire system, in order to find possible errors or incompatibilities.

Could you kindly share the brand and model of the external monitor you're using?

Best regards,
