Iris 540: surface pro 4 is 2560x1080 Résolution possible?

I have bought an ultrawide display 2560x1080 and can not get it to scale with my surface pro 4 i7 with iris graphics 540 chipset. It tells me my driver is up to date.. I am trying to connect with a mini display port adapter to hdmi.

oh... and the screen is an IIyama xub3493wqsu

is it possible, or am I wasting my time?

In reference to your inquiry, just to let you know, the Intel® Iris® Graphics 540 controller supports up to 4096x2304@60Hz with the DisplayPort, so it does support the resolution that you are trying to set:

Now, since you are using a Surface Pro 4, that is a computer that is highly customized by Microsoft, so we just wanted to confirm a few details:

Were you able to set the 2560x1080 before?

What are the steps that you follow in order to try to set that resolution?
