LG Gram16Z90P-K thunderbolt video doesn't work with Lenovo T27h-2L

If connect the display just shows a black screen and it's not recognized by Windows.  But charging works.

All drivers and Windows updates are the latest.

It works if connect using HDMI or through USB C to HDMI adapter.
Also, it works fine if connect HP EliteBook 840 G6 or MacBook M1.

See all details from the Intel SSU tool in the attached file.

Hello Ihor

Thank you for your response via email.

For this scenario, we recommend first checking that the display is enabled in the Intel® Graphics Command Center:

  1. From the Windows Search bar, search for the Intel® Graphics Command Center. Double-click the Intel® Graphics Command Center icon.
  2. Click Display.
  3. In the Connected Displays Window, click the three-dot menu for the desired display.
  4. Click Enable.

Also, if the Lenovo* display is being powered through the same USB-C cable plugged into the computer, we recommend connecting the monitor to a separate power source using the included power cord.

Checking the Intel® SSU report, we noticed that the system is running the latest generic graphics driver from Intel® "31.0.101.3790". Therefore, we would like to know if you have also tested with the customized drivers provided by your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) LG*?

If you haven't tried the OEM drivers yet, due to the driver or software for your Intel® component might have been changed or replaced by the computer manufacturer, we would like to recommend a Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows* using the OEM graphics driver from the LG* website to discard driver-related issues. OEM drivers are handpicked and include customized features and solutions to platform-specific issues.

If the behavior persists, you can try these additional steps:

1- Repeat the Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers using the latest Intel® generic Graphics DCH Driver version 31.0.101.3790.

2- Check with LG* Support if there are drivers or firmware available specific for the Thunderbolt/USB-C port that may help to improve/enable full features.

3- Contact Lenovo* Support to check if there are firmware updates available for your monitor.

4- Try different USB-C cables using a straight-through connection and if possible test with a different USB-C monitor to see if the behavior is different to discard compatibility issues.

We hope this helps. Please feel free to share the outcome of the steps.

Best regards,
