I recently bought a new Lenovo 15IAX9 laptop with Windows 11. I'm trying to fix an issue I'm experiencing when closing the laptop lid when connected to an external display.
When I connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI, everything works fine and video playback is smooth on both my laptop screen and on my TV (using extend or duplicate display)
However, as soon as I close my laptop lid, everything jumps from my laptop over to the TV as though I disconnected it, and then the TV screen flashes a few times and the video playback become very jittery / laggy. This did not happen on my old laptop.
If I disable Intel UHD Graphics driver in device manager, my laptop screen defaults to using the Windows Basic driver. This actually fixes the issue so that closing the lid no longer causes everything to jump screens, but using the Windows Basic driver causes everything to look terrible and video playback is horribly jittery.
It seems like there should be an option in the Intel Graphics Command Center to keep the laptop screen on when the lid is closed, but I can't find one.
I have the "do nothing when lid closed" options checked. Doesn't work.
I have tried changing the ACPI Lid driver to Volume Manager. Doesn't work.

Hello JasonSmith
Thank you for the update.
By the way, have you tried reporting this issue to Lenovo?
If you are having this issue since day one and the issue seems to be related to the functionality of the laptop, Lenovo should be guiding you on this feature.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,

I hope you are having a good day.
I am sending another follow up hoping you are now talking to the manufacturer of the system.
Since we have not heard back from you, I need to close this inquiry.
If you need further assistance, please post a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.
