Hi,

I have Intel® HD Graphics (Core i5 M430) installed in my Laptop. I have Windows 7 home premium on notebook hp dv2046la model(64-bit). I am not able to connect my tv or other external devices through HDMI cable.

Earlier i used to connect. I have updated the driver as well. But still getting the same issue.

I have attached my system configuration also. Please let me know if anything else is required.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Dario

Dfran13, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support. Did you test the laptop with a different PC monitor/TV? What is the model of the monitor/TV? When did the issue started? Besides the driver update, did you make any recent hardware/software changes? Did you try a different HDMI cable? For this type of scenario, we recommend to install the latest graphics driver version provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, that driver was customized by HP to work with your specific platform. I looked in HP's web site and according to the information in there there are no graphics drivers available for your system: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv5-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/4166206/model/4205904 Since the processor works with Intel® HD Graphics for Previous Generation, in the following link you will find the latest version of the Intel® generic graphics driver that we can try to install: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22521/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-Driver-Windows-7-64-Windows-Vista-64-exe-?product=81503 Regards, Alberto R. Hi Alberto,}Thanks for your answer.

I have tried with a TV Samsung, another samsung tv and also an LG monitor and it does not work.

I have also installed the above informed drivers without success. And I have also tested with 2 HDMI cables, so, I do not know what to do. I have re-installed the windows due to lack of performance and it works perfect now, but only the HDMI does not work.

And in the BIOS, I do not see the advanced task in order to enable / disable the HDMI. I really appreciate your help on this issue.

Best regards,

Dario

Hi Dfran13, Thank you very much for letting us know those results. In this case the best thing to do will be to get in contact with HP directly, the problem could be related to hardware, the HDMI port might be defective and they might be able to provide further suggestions on this subject: https://support.hp.com/us-en Regards, Alberto R. Thanks for your reply. I have read another partner here in the forum and some of you sent a private message (I have seen it) informing something about DX Diag as the Bios has not been updated to enable the HDMI port. Can you help me on this? In order to see the advance task in the BIOS to enable the port?

Dfran13, You are very welcome. In order to try to do a BIOS update or to disable/enable BIOS settings you will need to get in contact with HP, they support everything related to the BIOS and its features. Regards, Alberto R. Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation

Thanks again! But why in the Intel software does not allow me to use an external monitor? Do you have a screen capture so you can see it?

Dfran13, You are very welcome. Sure, once you choose "reply" select the "clip" icon on the lower left corner to attach the picture. Just to let yo know, the Intel® graphics driver are generic, meaning they might or might not work with your system. The best thing to do will be to install the drivers from HP or to get in contact directly with them for further assistance, this could be also a hardware problem and the HDMI port might be defective. hello Dfran13, Thank you very much for providing that information. For some reason I cannot see the picture, in any case, at this point to get in contact directly with HP for support will be the best thing to do, the fact that there are no graphics drivers available for this product indicates they might not be releasing drivers for Windows* 7 anymore, so it recommended to verify that directly with them.
