My Acer Laptop display is a mess. I have theories but I am not formally educated in computer lingo.

My Acer windows 10 laptop used to have excellent reliable graphics,  perfect scale for the size of the window laptop screen.  For example,  the recommended setting was  always 125 not 100 not 80 or  60!   Now nothing fits properly it is always gigantic and  skewed either huge on some pages and on other the FONT  IS FIXED AS IN NOT CHANGEABLE AND SO  TINY YOU  HAVE TO HAVE SUPER VISION TO SEE OR  USE A MAGNIFYING  GLASS.  THIS NEVER USED TO BE UNTIL MICROSOFT DID ONE  UPDATE AFTER ANOTHER AND SCREWED IT ALL UP.  I TRIED TO DO MY OWN AMATURE RESEARCH  BUT IT IS LIKE A BOTTOMLESS PIT.  I WENT TO MICROSOFT TECH AND THEY MADE IT EVEN WORSE.  THEY HAVE MESSED ON MY  COMPUTER BEYOND BELIEF!

I WONDER IF IT IS A DRIVER BUT I DON'T HAVE THE COMPUTER FORMAL BACK GROUND  TO BE SURE.  I NOW HAVE A MACULAR VISION ISSUE WHICH IS REALLY DISABLING  AND I AM A GRASS ROOTS ACITIVIST WHO HAS TO USE A COMPUTER.   IF ANYONE HAS SOME IDEAS THAT I CAN FOLLOW I REPEAT FOLLOW AND UNDERSTAND I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.  SO FAR NO ONE HAS THE  WORK ETHIC OR THE EMPATHY TO GIVE A DARN.

First, do not be afraid to release the CAPS LOCK.

So, Microsoft created the problem, and you come here for a fix rather than seek help from Microsoft or Acer?  I just want to understand the situation.

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Download, run, and save the results of this utility as a text file:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Then ATTACH the text file using the instructions under the reply window ( Drag and drop here or browse files to attach ).

Your best bet is to either reset the computer's Windows 10 installation to its original settings or reinstall Windows 10 completely. Once the base Windows 10 position is established (or re-established, as the case may be), install only the driver packages that are supplied for your laptop on the Acer site.

Simple? No, it's not. Some storefronts offer folks who can do this for you for a nominal fee.

No I did not get the solution from your reply.  I went to Microsoft tech support India and they did not know what to do and pretended to know and lied to me.  The guy took over my computer and he did not know what to do so I suggested he try and restore to an earlier date but he started the process told me he would call me back in 30 minutes hung up and never called back.  I stay on with the restore going around and around for at least an hour or more and then decided to shut it down.  Then I went back to Windows Microsoft on their website chatted with some guy who suggested as you did that I REINSTALL AND HE DID NOT EVEN ASK MY PERMISSION HE JUST STARTED IT AND LET IT GO AND THEN WALKED AWAY!  AFTER BEING ON LINE ALL DAY AGAIN AFTER MANY MANY TIMES TRYING TO EXPLAIN HOW MESSED UP MY COMPUTER IS MANING SUCH WEIRD DISPLAY SETTING ALL OVER THE PLACE ON SOME WINDOWS SO TINY I HAVE TO USE A MAGNIFYING GLASS AND ON OTHER WINDOWS HUGE.  I HAVE TRIED ALL THE OBVIOUS TROUBLE SHOOTING AND NOTHING RESLOVES THE MESS WITH THE DISPLAY.  THIS ALL CAME ABOUT BACK IN DECEMBER WITH ONE OF THE UPDATES FROM MICROSOFT.    I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE VOLUNTEERING TO ACCEPT MICROSOFTS INVITATION TO JOIN THEIR INSIDER PROGRAM BUT MICROSOFT DID NOT LIVE UP TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND TELL ME THAT I WOULD NOT JUST BE GIVING FEED BACK TO IMPROVE THEIR PRODUCT THEY DID NOT TELL ME THE WHOLE TRUTH THAT THEY WERE GOING TO BE USING MY COMPUTER TO TEST THEIR BUILDS!  AND I DID NOT KNOW THIS OTHER WISE I NEVER WOULD HAVE VOULTEERED  THIS COST ME A LOT OF ANXIETY, FRUSTRATION AND WHEN THEY SCREWED UP MY COMPUTER AND DID NOT FIX IT.   I WANTED OUT!  THEY MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT IT REQUIRED ME HAVE TO ACTUALLY DRIVE TO THEIR MICROSOFT STORE IN BELLVUE WASHINGTON TO GET ME OUT AND IT TOO 8 HOURS!  I WAS THERE FROM MORNING TO NIGHT!   I DID NOT PLAN  ON SPENDING MY LAST YEARS ON PLANET IT EARTH SPENDING ALL DAY TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH TECH SUPPORT AND AND THEN GET WORSE RESULTS.  RE-INSTALLING WINDOWS TEN DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE AND IT MADE IT WORSE.  I LOST ALL MY BOOK MARKS.  I CAN'T READ A LOT OF THE TINY PRINT AND MY COMPUTER FREEZES AND DOES NOT LOAD.  I  DID MY OWN RESEARCH AND I BELIEVE IT IS A DRIVER ISSUE.  BUT NO ONE WILL HELP ME.  I AM 73 AND NOT RICH.  I AM A FORMER HISTORY TEACHER IN DETROIT AND I CAN'T RUN OUT AND GET PAID FOR TECH HELP OR BUY A COMPUTER NOW.  I MOVED TO WASHINGTON AND BROUGHT A NEW COMPUTER AND I WAS HERE  LESS THAN A MONTH AND  I WAS BURGALARIZED AND  MY NEW COMPUTER WAS STOLEN.  I NOW HAVE VISION ISSUES RELATED TO A MACULAR HOLE AND ONE THING I AM NOT  SUPPOSSED TO BE DOING IN STARRING AT A COMUPUTER SCREEN WITH TEENY, TINY, MICROSCOPIC  FONT IN WINDOWS  AND THE GO ONLINE TO FACEBOOK AND THE FONT IS  HUGE, THEN TINY AND DISTORTED.   HOW CAN A  SO CALLE TECH SUPPORT THINK THE  ANSWER IS AS SIMPLE AS RE-INSTALLING WINDOWS TEN AND DO THEY UNDERSTAND THE  RAMIFICATIONS?  WHEN THEY FAIL TO CHECK THE DRIVERS AND OTHER ISSUES.  I THINK MICROSOFT IS GETTING SCAMMED PAYING THESE SO CALLED TECHS FOR NOT TAKING THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY.

It is not going to help you to keep beating the drum about Microsoft.

Either do a Windows 10 reset, or a clean install of Windows 10.  But, save your data first.  This includes bookmarks.

And, release that CAPS LOCK.   Yelling here serves no purpose.

Also, you are neglecting the possibility that your laptop may be defective.  It may be worth your time to check with Acer regarding repair options.
