Rebuild degraded RAID volume

I had to replace a faild drive in a mirror RAID1 setup. The instructions couldn't be simpler. Every thing is as shown in the rebuild instructions but when I click Finish in the wizard I get "This wizard was unable to start the rebuild process". Can't find anything about this error in the documentation. Updated the BIOS and tried downgrading the Matrix Storage Console to 8.8. Same error. Running VISTA Home Premium.

Not sure what the problem was with Vista but I just upgreded to Windows 7 and the 8.8 console is rebuilding the drive.
