Corsair SFF 600 PSU

Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 C16 ( 2x8 ) 16 GB

M.2 ( PCH ) ( system )  WD Blue SN570 500GB Gen3 ( shader cache )

M.2 ( CPU ) ( games )   Lexar NM790 1TB Gen4

CPU 12400 ( Glacier One 240 AiO )

GPU ARC A750 LE ( Gen4 top slot ) ( Corsair 220T airflow case )

Testing with the current driver ( 31.101.5333 )

Performs flawlessly with a variety of current ( 3DMARK Speed Way/Firestrike ) and legacy graphics benchmarks ( UNIGEN Valley/Superimposition ) along with popular PC game titles ( cyberpunk/Deathloop/Starfield/Scars Above ) across a range of DX9/DX11/DX12/openGL workloads.

Star Citizen performs extremely well with Low settings at 1080p but will hard lock crash the system after a period of time.

During crash: Task Manager showed fully utilised GPU MEM ( otherwise not under any load ) but the system was hard locked and requires system restart from ctl/alt/delete screen. On other occasions the program could be alt/F4 back to desktop killing the starcitizen process.

Returning to the program, the crash is repeatable with the same system lock each time.

This only occurs with the ARC A750 installed ( otherwise, an Nvidia RTX 4060 is installed ).

Star Citizen is currently DX11 based and the crashes with the A750 installed might be observed as a driver related ( possibly REBAR associated with this DX11 title ) issue rather than a failing of the hardware or system configuration.

NOTED: The A750 performs surprisingly comparably with the RTX 4060 in this title with the same in game settings.

This system configuration is an economic, lower power solution for StarCitizen gameplay at low settings. Otherwise, the main system for this title requires a high end build to run at the highest settings. ( I use: 1000W PSU / X570 / DDR4 3600 C16 64GB / Gen4 980pro M.2 / 5950X / 3090ti FE / Fractal Torrent full airflow )

The A750 is a very competent 8GB card with performance and cooling. I hope the updates to the ARC class driver continues to improve and evolve to include performance updates to titles such as Star Citizen.

Hello Lotor,

Thank you for posting in our Intel communities.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps below for a possible solution to our issue:

1.Please try to clean install your graphics driver using DDU, then download our newly released graphics (31.0.101.5379).

You may refer to this article on how to download Intel drivers:

How to Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 & Windows 11*

2.Make sure that the operating system is up-to-date.

  • Click the Start button.
    • Search for Windows Update.
    • Click Check for Updates and run all pertinent updates.
    • Update Windows*. Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.

3.Try to load the default BIOS setting in your system or update the BIOS to the latest version.

Thank you, and have a great day ahead!

Best regards,

Apologies for not catching up with this ticket, I had erroneously replied via the email I had received and not noticed that it was a no-reply email !

Since logging back into my Intel account, I see that the ticket has been closed.

I just wanted to follow up with a screenshot and the dxdiag file. Since reinstalling the card with it's most recent driver update, running Star Citizen produces a new message box stating that only 8GB of system memory is available to SC yet the game continues to load and run. There are the usual stuttering issues with SC shader compilation. I did notice flickering textures which resolve but reoccur with movement. I put this down to shaders caching on the first run of the game with new graphics driver, the game will run smoothly after this period usually.

The impression of an issue regarding system memory allocation and the rebar enabled GPU within 16GB of system memory is further reenforced by the popup window during load ( repeatable ).

I hope this message and included attachments is of help to you regarding the ARC A 750 and Star Citizen in its current form. SC will be transitioning to Vulcan from DX11 which will almost certainly benefit rebar enabled GPU's ( AMD GPU's are also suffering in SC currently and the common factor is that they are rebar enabled GPU's too ) and bring a host of compatibility and modern features to the engine. Otherwise, this information and data may be of use to DX11 in general in the game driver.

Thank you again and I can only take full responsibility for replying to an email and not having logged back into my account! Screenshot (2).png
