Go to start, settings, system, about, and scroll to the bottom to get the version number.

I should have included the info earlier but didn't have access to the laptop.

Windows 10 Pro, version 1809 and was updated 5/10/19.

You may want to update to 1903, and then try installing the ssu.

Can't update. I need the SSU to see why the Intel 3160 WiFi adapter isn't working. No internet connection. The Enet interface went belly up on this laptop a couple of years ago so WiFi is my only option.

You may need to invest in a wired or wireless dongle.

Right now, one intel doc says the 3160 is support, while the other says it is not:

(yes) https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005602/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

(no) https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006507/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

It's strange. It was working fine last week. Anyway, I just ordered a newer version Intel adapter card. I should get it tomorrow. That still doesn't explain why SSU doesn't work. I loaded it on my desktop with Win 10 Pro version 1803 (pretty old) and it loaded just fine. I'll wait and see if the new wifi adapter gets my laptop back on line then I'll try running it again. Thanks for your suggestions.

Not loading could be a sign of a disk or memory problem.
