Hello all,
I bought a used HP ENVY m4-1150la laptop and upgraded from Windows 8 to the free Windows 10 upgrade. I have managed to upgrade all the drivers necessary- save for the Intel HD graphics 4000 driver. This have been the bane of my week. I have failed to be able to install, uninstall, disable, enable, upgrade through the Intel Driver Update Utility, manually install/uninstall version of the drivers, etc. Every instance has resulted in Windows 10 not liking any version of the driver gave me the ole' "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I try to install drivers NUMEROUS ways but always to the result of Window not applying the updates even after trying to install any of the later driver updates.
I've searching messageboards, YouTube vids, etc and I cannot for the life of me find any sort of resolution to this error except that this error code 43 means many different things- even as far as possibly being a hardware issue with soldering connectors.
So.
Anyone else have this headache of an issue?

Hi Tribute2Johnny,
Pre-build systems such as your HP ENVY m4-1150la comes with customized drivers by your pc manufacturer. Our generic drivers available in our website might not work in your system.
I suggest you to install the latest driver provided with Hewlett Packard support website.

Second option:
Uninstall and delete the current driver from device manager; restart the system and run Windows® 10 update.

I have tried this numerous times.
The kicker is that even though Microsoft claimed that this machine was fully compatible, I still am having issues. I had no idea that the graphic were going to be as much of a pain as it is currently to get the display and any other outboard graphic options to work on it. It seems that I am out of luck- unless someone has an idea outside of a standard support response.
Thanks,

Hi Tribute2Johnny,
I did a research in regards this error code in our data base and there is no information related. I noted you already have the latest BIOS and graphics driver. According to Hewlett Packard, the updates are going to distributed by Windows® 10 update.
I suggest you to follow Microsoft workaround

Hello again,
None of that solved my problem. I have read numerous articles and support forums hinting that this might actually be a fault in the hardware and attempting to reheat the soldering connection with flux might aide this fix. Since this is an older machine and bought second hand the warranty has been void for quite a while. This might be an error with the hardware...too bad.

Hi Tribute2Johnny,
Thank you for your update. It will be necessary to confirm with Hewlett Packard if there is any workaround or recall program in regards the issue.
