Trouble updating my graphics driver.

Hello,

I am trying to update the graphics driver on my HP G62. From what I can tell the graphics card is a Mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family. When I check the driver date it is dated for 2010. I us the Intel control panel to find the latest driver and install it. However, all of my settings change and the resolution changes to 800x600 with a max of 1024x768. Also, when I then try to play an online game the game tells me that my system is now out of date. Any thoughts on what is happening.
