Will Intel UHD Graphics 620 support 3840x1080 (32:9)?

I want to buy an ultrawide monitor, 32:9 ratio, 3840x1080 resolution. I'll swap between using it as a monitor for my personal pc and my work laptop (I mostly telework). Since this is a work laptop, I'll not be able to change anything like using different drivers.

The work laptop is:
Model: HP ProBook 640 G5
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-8365UE
Embedded graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620

The processor specs page says the HDMI port will support a maximum resolution of 4096x2304@24Hz.
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/193559/intel-core-i58365ue-processor-6m-cache-up-to-4-10-ghz.html

This page, Determine Maximum Supported Resolution on Intel Graphics Technology, says "Most devices will support any resolution and refresh rate up to the maximum value listed". I know many graphics systems will only support certain standard resolution modes.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000023781/graphics.html

So my question is whether "any" means "any" or "any standard". Will this processor/graphics support the ultrawide resolution?

indicate a significant complex dependence of the resolution value on the memory used, for example, in a laptop.

A modern perfect formulation of this

"Resolution support is subject to memory BW (bandwidth) availability."

The 3840x1080 is part of the 4K normal low-frequency resolution at 24 Hz, 60 Hz, but there are gaming monitors with frequencies of 100-120 Hz.

My gaming system will put out 60-120Hz, but I don't need my work system to put out that refresh rate, and a slower one would be fine when I've got the work laptop docked.

Yesterday I spoke with both Intel and HP support, but didn't get a definitive answer. My best understanding currently is that the monitor tells the PC what resolution modes it supports (discreet options), and then the hw/sw system can be told to put out any of those modes which are less than the max resolution - which means it should display at this resolution.

Thoughts?

EDIDs of high-frequency monitors contain several DTD blocks (Detailed Timing Data), which are described in detail
only high frequencies and support the HDMI 2.0 standard, which is not supported by eighth-generation processors and with modes with lower regeneration frequencies may unexpectedly encounter problems.

The 3840x1080 formally can even match the HDMI 1.4 frequency of 60 Hz since it is half of the 4K and that corresponds
3840x2160 at 30 Hz.

USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.1 ports allow you to use DisplayPort via USB-C connector ("The processor platform supports DP Type-C ..." ) or DisplayLink technology or Magic Control Technology Corp. but they do not have detailed specifications, look from the inside at the world around them completely individually and support a limited number of modes, so they require careful selection and study by reviews.

You can try to learn more about the monitor in advance through its EDID.

There is a general library of EDID's in WWW

================================================================================

It's ok in theory because HD resolution commonly limited at 2K x 1K 1920x1080 @ 120 Hz,

4K x 1K (3840x1080) - 120 Hz / 2, 4K x 2K - 120 Hz / 4. But memory performances of notebook are absolute.

There is also Custom Resolution in IGCC.

Screen height 336 mm at 1080 pixel height gives very comfortable ppi for work.

Very fast implementation of NEXTGEN TV broadcasting unexpectedly leads to the appearance in every
home display with 4K resolution and HDMI input for testing.

The external display of the laptop can work as a single display.

In theory, this should work just fine - and by my calculation, you might even be able to get to 60Hz. Now, this is based upon the laptop exposing the 'raw' HDMI 1.4 output of the processor. If the laptop includes a LSPcon IC (which converts from DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0), you might even get to 120Hz.

Hope this helps,
