Not sure what you mean. If you are looking for the gcc or gcp, look in the start menu under "intel". The reason it is there is because that is the way Microsoft wants it.

If this is not what you mean, explain in detail.

For your laptop, you must get assistance from your laptop manufacturer. The laptop manufacturer is solely responsible for support of your laptop.

And, you should use the drivers provided by the laptop manufacturer, not the Intel generic driver. This is especially the case if you have dual graphics.

Hello jgrei1,

Thank you for submitting your question on this Intel® Community.

To better assist you, we would like to have more information about your computer including the model, OS version, etc. Please generate a system report with the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach it to this thread.

  1. Intel® SSU Download link
  2. Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  3. Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  4. To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

Hello jgrei1,

Thank you for your response.

Intel recommends installing OEM drivers only since they are customized for your system to ensure functionality and improve the overall performance of your computer. However, you can try to force the generic DCH driver for testing purposes.

1. Download the latest DCH driver from downloadcenter.intel.com and save it on your Desktop.

2. Disconnect from the Internet.

3. In Device Manager > Right-click on "Intel® HD Graphics".

  • If "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" is already listed, skip to step#8

4. Select "Uninstall device".

5. Enable the option "Delete the driver software for this device" and click "Uninstall".

6. Restart the computer.

7. This should delete any non-DCH driver stored on Windows driver repository.

  • Repeat steps #3 through #6 until "Intel® HD Graphics" changes to "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter".

8. Install the DCH driver downloaded in step #1.

  • Try installing the DCH driver via the .exe file only.

9. Restart the computer.

10. Reconnect to the Internet.

Note: The (DCH) Intel® Graphics Control Panel should be downloaded automatically after a few minutes upon restart. If it does not get downloaded, go to Microsoft Store and download it. Restart the computer after that.

Hello jgrei1,

We have not heard back from you, so we will close this inquiry. If you need further assistance, please post a new question.

It is worth noting that if the issue persists after installing the generic driver 26.20.100.7212, then we recommend that you contact your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to report the problem and request a customized DCH driver.
