I have a laptop with windows 10 and 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4000. I am trying to add two external monitors one using vga and the other using hdmi but am unsuccessful. When I connect the vga it works fine but when I add the hdmi the monitor with the vga goes away. On the intel faqs i found that my graphics card does support three displays. On the graphics control panel it only shows two active displays however it does recognize the third. I would like to know how i can get three displays?
Intel Control Panel
Windows Control Panel
Display Adapters
Monitors
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello hamzakv333,
In order to get a native triple displays from your system it will be necessary to have any of these specials configurations.
- • DisplayPort + DisplayPort + HDMI* or DVI or VGA or DisplayPort or Built-in Display2
- • DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA + DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA + Built-in Display
- • DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA or Built-in Display + DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI or VGA + Intel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi)
In this case, for you to have triple display you will need to have one DisplayPort with your laptop, that way you can run up to 3 monitors using your Intel HD graphics 4000. For example, you can display graphics on your laptop screen and 2 external monitors.
When trying to get triple monitor configuration, we strongly recommend not using video adapters or convertors. This is because these devices need to modify and transfer the signal coming from the system to display it in another connector type and during this process the system can be affected and therefore not displaying the information or sending the signals as it should.
Please see more information about doing multiple displays at:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033714.htm
Note: Just because you see three or more ports on your laptop, it doesn't necessarily mean you can use all of them at the same time. For example, many older Nvidia cards are unable to run more than two monitors on a single card, even if they have more than two ports.
Also you could try an adapter but we cannot guarantee that it will work because we have not tested it, you can see one here:
