Hello BOATS,

Thank you for reaching out and providing details about your setup. It's great that you've observed the fan behavior and temperature of your A380, as these details are helpful in diagnosing the issue.

Please answer the following questions:

  • When the fans stop spinning, is the system running normally otherwise?
  • Does the fan behavior change under load? Is there a specific time wherein the fan works?
  • Have you tried to use other power supply?

Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*. Please send us the generated SSU.txt file.

I look forward to your response!

Best Regards,

So there are no post warnings, the CPU and case fan run normally, the screen is black with no output, and it cannot F10 into BIOS. I bought a new PSU just for this GPU I will attempt an SSU report

more to come soon

Hello BOATS,

Thank you for the update. Based on the details you've provided, especially the black screen with no output and inability to access the BIOS, it seems like there could be a compatibility or power-related issue.

While you've mentioned using a new PSU, ensure it meets the minimum power and connector requirements for the A380. The 350W PSU might be cutting it close depending on your system's total power draw. You may also try removing the A380 and booting the system using integrated graphics to confirm if the system itself is functioning properly. Additionally, ensure that the A380 is seated properly on the PCIe slot.

Once you generate the SSU report, please share it so I can help analyze further and help you resolve the issue you're currently encountering.

I look forward to your response!

Hi, Robbie

I will look again, but I do not see an SSU report when I try running the card. I will do more digging but the system is not fully booting. let me give it one more try, I'll remove some memory from the PC and see if I will see a  SSU report with the lesser memory.

I will get back to you soon if I have a result

Hello BOATS,

Thank you for your reply and for providing the SSU report and additional details about your setup.

To help pinpoint the root cause, please answer the following questions:

Can you confirm the exact model and specification of the new PSU you're using?

Have you tested the A380 in another system?

Have you check for any available BIOS updates from HP?

What is the PCIe slot that the A380 is inserted on the Motherboard?

Can you take a picture of your system along with the A380 installed?

I look forward to your response!

Hello BOATS,

Thank you for answering the following questions and for providing the requested details. Upon further investigation, it seems that your BIOS is not updated. With that being said, I highly advise for you to update your BIOS.

Kindly refer to HP Desktop - M01-F0024 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support and download the latest BIOS Version available. Upon download and installation, I highly advise for you to load everything in defaults.

Please answer the additional following questions:

  • What is the exact make and model of your new Power Supply Unit
  • Have you tried to conduct a GPU swap test?

I look forward to your reply!

Hello BOATS,

I'm sorry to hear you couldn't get the BIOS updated. Boxing it up for a future build sounds like a good plan. If you need any help in the future, feel free to reach out. With that being said, I would like to inform you that this thread will no longer be monitored.
